Celebrate the fun of reading  with author talks, autographs, cooking demos, workshops, costume parade, contests, vendors, and books, books, books! — Admission is free!

Activities!
The day includes 30+ author talks on six stages, a costume parade, slam poetry performances, street performers, cooking demos, self-publishing seminars, writers’ workshops, new and used booksellers, scavenger hunts, arts & crafts, plus gourmet food and beverage vendors.  (For more information about the events, click here.)

Location:
The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley Shopping Center is conveniently located at the Union Road exit and Highway 120, and it provides a beautiful setting for the festivities. The massive parking lot will be covered with tented stages for presentations and workshops. Dozens of authors will answer questions and sign books in “Authors’ Alley,” gourmet food trucks will line “Knosh Boulevard,” and the rest of the walkways will be filled with a wide variety of vendors. Year-Round Events:
To support reading and writing in public schools, the Bookfest leaders have added activities for teachers and students, including a bookmark design contest in March-April. Our friends at Great Valley Writing Project offer free workshops. (For more information, click here.)

It’s even more fun when you volunteer!
This event is a labor of love that is organized by volunteers, and our busy festival leaders usually have a number of projects and new proposals that require attention. Most volunteers work just one or two days in October, but many book-lovers choose to be involved year-round.  To find out how you can get involved, click here.
