The Great Valley Bookfest is a small, non-profit organization.

We are grateful to all who contribute to ensure that the festival is free to all.

Our goal is to make as much of the Great Valley Bookfest as free as possible to the public. We don’t charge an entrance fee or charge attendees to interact with their favorite authors.

“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! — When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”
– Jane Austen –
“Pride and Prejudice”

Everything we do is possible only
because we have the support of people like you.

With you on our team we will continue to put on a spectacular Bookfest event for the Central Valley of California. The day includes author talks on six stages, a costume parade, slam poetry performances, street performers, cooking demos, self-publishing seminars, writers’ workshops, new and used booksellers, class-authored book displays, arts & crafts, plus gourmet food and beverage vendors. The mission of the Great Valley Bookfest is to provide a family-friendly festival that celebrates literacy and promotes the written word in the heart of California’s Central Valley.

“Cram your head with characters and stories. Abuse your library privileges. Never stop looking at the world, and never stop reading to find out what sense other people have made of it. If people give you a hard time and tell you to get your nose out of a book, tell them you’re working. Tell them it’s research. Tell them to pipe down and leave you alone.”
― Jennifer Weiner

Great Valley Bookfest Author

“I grabbed my book and opened it up. I wanted to smell it. Heck, I wanted to kiss it. Yes, kiss it. That’s right, I am a book kisser. Maybe that’s kind of perverted or maybe it’s just romantic and highly intelligent.”
― Sherman Alexie, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian
